"What is Islam?"

It's already a week since Ashraf converted to Islam, and he finally had the courage to let out the question that trapped inside him.

It's not easy to ask that question since people nowadays will answer it half-heartedly; more to answer it with sarcasm.

'A religion, duh.'

Some wouldn't even answer it.

'You don't even know what's the meaning of Islam? Awat hang tak tanya time nak kiamat?'

Well, they probably don't know the answer too.

Instead of laughing at him, Farhan smiled by the question that came out from Ashraf's mouth. It's a sudden one, yes, but the fact that he have the urge to know Islam making Farhan felt very pleased.

"Islam." He paused and lifted his head up to face the sky. "Islam is the truth that Allah revealed through all His prophets to every people. This is the religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith."

That's not what the answer that Ashraf expected- it's far better than that. He nodded slowly, digesting all the word from his best friend. "What's the meaning of Islam then?"

"The Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and derives from a word meaning 'peace'. Mind if I tell you the meaning in religious context?"

Ashraf answered the question with an eager nod.

"In a religious context it means complete submission to the will of God. 'Allah' is the Arabic name for God, which is used by Arab Muslims and Christians alike."

/i didnt finished this bcs of misunderstanding with my friend so i decided to post here- let see whether i will continue it or what/
